in detroit most of the early part of my adult life. remember, this is the mitt romney who said the automatic industry just go bankrupt. when you look outside of detroit, of course, michigan but ohio depends on those jobs. as a matter of fact, throughout the midwest, most of the jobs, whether it's the automotive industry or not directly, there are indirect jobs related. glass, plastic, rubber, you name it. textiles, so that does not surprise me. because i think what white, working class, particularly men, understand, i would rather have a black friend in the white house than a whiten me and i've raised that question with unions i've spoke to. you've got to ask yourself that question. you my understand. labor has a friend. working people have a friend in the white house. they do not have a friend with mitt romney. >> well, patricia, staying on that for a minute, also in the area of health care, something that i think people are getting beyond a racial divide because we all are concerned about our health and insurance. now, in the "60 minutes" interview with romney last night, he was asked abou

? let detroit go bankrupt. we weren't going to let detroit go bankrupt or lordstown go bankrupt or toledo go bankrupt. i stood with american workers. i stood with american manufacturing. i believed in you. i bet on you. i'll make that bet any day of the week. and because of that bet three years later that bet is paying off for america. >> the president bet on america time and time again. and because of that, we're better off. case closed. joining me now is chairwoman of the democratic national committee, congresswoman debbie wasserman shultz. thanks for joining me tonight. >> thank you. great to be with you again. >> what does the president need to do this week? >> what we're doing this week unlike the invitation only corporate infused back room deal smoke filled room affair that we had in my home state last week put on by the republicans, here this week in charlotte we opened the week with a community festival. celebrating the carolinas and invited the public to participate in what would be the most inclusive community oriented nominating convention for a presidential candidate

-americans are not feeling mitt romney is because jobs are extremely important to us. right now in detroit, another town i've lived in 20 years, people are back to work because of barack obama saved the auto industry. not the level they'd like to, but in the right direction. >> two of tonight's featured speakers are former bain capital employees randy johnson and s cindy ewing. they've both appeared on this show to talk about the record. watch this. >> to me it's simple. it's profits before people. i don't think he's in touch for the reality of what it means to be on the shop floor. he's never been a manager on a shop floor. he's never done anything but produced profits for the rich. >> i really, really find his claims he created jobs to be offensive. because the jobs he created were entry-level service and retail positions. they were not jobs that gave people a living wage where they could support their families, send their kids to school. the jobs he eliminated in our plant absolutely were. >> these are two of the speakers tonight. do you expect a harsh attack on bain tonight? >> i certainly think they

numbers. >> my prediction, even though the dead votes of chicago, detroit, and cleveland i predict that we will win. >> now, also with an interview with tpm, there was this comment. he doubled down bauer. the quote is, voter fraud is rampant in urban areas. i'm raising this to you, because you did the study. from your study and studies that you have also looked over and reviewed -- >> yep. >> have you found rampant voter fraud and is there any scientific data to support that the people voting for the president are people that are dependent on a check in the mail from the government and any of these other class and race-based accusations? >> absolutely not, reverend. those kinds of statements are not in keeping with american values. you know, in america, voting is a fundamental right. it is not a privilege. when you're at the ballot box, whether you are rich or poor or whether you are young or old or whether you are a democrat or a republican, you are ee fall at the ballot box and it is so important when we hear that kind of rhetoric, everyone out there goes and registers to vote. there are

and cred detroit there to help working families and lower income people. so again, we really don't know and that's why he has opened himself up to a lot of criticism that his plan would end up cutting taxes on the wealthy and increasing them on middle and lower income households. >> erin, you covered the campaign in the spring and summer and romney and ryan said they closed loopholes in the tax code. annie just mentioned tax code but they just won't tell us which ones. take a listen. >> give me an example of a loophole that you will close. >> well, i can tell that you people at the high end, high-income taxpayers are going to have fewer deductions and exemptions. >> don't viewers have a right to know which loopholes you're going to go after? >> so mitt romney and i, based on our experience, think the best way to do this is to show the framework, show the outlines of these plans and work with congress to do this. >> tax loophole also is there a reason you guys respect naming specific tax loopholes? >> yes, because we want to get it done. >> now, am i missing something, because from what
